About the editor: Jeremy C. Shipp is the Bram Stoker Award-nominated author of Cursed, Vacation, and Sheep and Wolves. His shorter tales have appeared or are forthcoming in over 60 publications, the likes of Cemetery Dance, ChiZine, Apex Magazine, Withersin, and Shroud Magazine. Jeremy enjoys living in Southern California in a moderately haunted Victorian farmhouse called Rose Cottage. He lives there with his life, Lisa, a couple of pygmy tigers, and a legion of yard gnomes. The gnomes like him. The clowns in his attic--not so much. Feel free to visit his online home at jeremycshipp.com and follow him on twitter: @JeremyCShipp.
Oh boy I got no attic in my home, all my toys are in storage down stairs in my hobby room. But I'm in the process of cleaning out the hobby room, to make sure for next flood season, which will be next year. Hey this Aussie in North Queensland always like to be prepared.
Anyhow, this sounds like an good idea. I wonder if I can find a toy that will make you very scary. If I can do a story, will see; and my muse is back from holidays.
Love this theme. Wheels are turning....
Agreed! Gives me the creeps just thinking about it!
Hi Mr. Shipp:
Would you accept a story along the lines of Algernon Blackwood's "The Doll", or are you looking for something in a different vein?
David Perlmutter
Hi David,
Something in that vein would definitely work. If there's a toy and an attic involved, and the story blows me away, I'll be a happy editor.
Sincerely,
Jeremy :)
Cool. Great theme, and wonderful to see Mr Shipp at the helm of this one. Go EJP!
Well, I wrote one tonight. Hope it hits the spot...love to get into this!
Fingers crossed. Just sent a little something in for this. Sounds like a fun book. I hope I make it in.
Sent it in tonight. Thank you, look forward to hearing back, and either way, look forward to reading this. Sure it's going to be a cracker. :)
I'm having trouble coming up with something. However, this is the most repulsive "toy" I've ever seen.

Mine got sent in all nice and neat yesterday. Of course now I can think of a billion things I'd like to change.....

That is insane! I didn't read the article--if there was one--just the pic was enough to scare me quickly away. I think that could be a story in itself.
"Crazy. Toys in the attic, I am crazy." - Liking this theme and the fact that dark humor is accepted. Good luck to those submitting.
The article, mercifully, was brief. It just stated the process in "curing" and "tanning" the placenta into a sort of leather that could then be stitched along the teddy bear pattern. *shudder* The thing has a sort of Leatherface/Buffalo Bill quality to it...
Then again, some people fry up and eat their placenta, so it can't be any worse than that, I guess.
OMG, I need to check this out!!
I'm new here, but I just wanted to say I'm writing something for this anthology. Love the subject! An idea sprung to my mind immediately.

HA indeed my friend Mr. Reaper would love to... If you wonder who Mr. Reaper is my muse for horror, just returned from a long holiday. I have different muses for different genres.
